Meet Me: Your Wardrobe’s Publicist and Your Style Hype Girl

I’ve been doing things a bit backwards here. Obsessing, writing about and linking to fashion — dwelling like a groundhog who’s glimpsed their shadow — marveling at what I see.  But, I’ve neglected to really share who I am, what I stand for and why you should care what I have to say. I have good style but what does that mean really? And I can serve up inspiration but where am I coming from and what makes me an expert you might be wondering…

Well, I work in PR. I’ve built a career on making other people matter. And I mean that in a loving way. I’ve worked, and work, with some remarkable talent. Vanity Fair, Today Show, New Yorker, In Style, Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert — you’ve seen “my work.” It’s my job to make you look good. What you say, what you wear, how you present yourself to the public — I’m an expert on how to position oneself (which let’s agree is such a weird job in and of itself, but that’s for another time).

So, we meet here — I’ve neglected to do for myself what I’ve made a career of doing for others. And, I imagine that you can relate, give great advice but can’t yourself follow said good guidance. You also can talk about your best friend, sister, random person on the street with glowing effect — but you, you’re a cold leftover piece of pizza — not desirable but also not a total throw away.

I’m here to do for you, for myself, what I’ve spent the last decade doing — hyping other people’s accomplishments. Here we’re going to matter. And matter in every sense. About things big and small. About things serious and frivolous. About fashion. About style. About life.  Let’s be brave — if we can be courageous here we can be our best selves in our lives too.
